Speaking as a preschool teacher who was once in charge of the Potty-Trainer class, I can give some advice here. :)

Nappies off. Completely. No nappies, no pull-ups (which are actually nappies, regardless of all the crap they spew about them being "just like underwear"). It's getting to Summer where you are, right? Let Zack run around in a t-shirt and his undies when it gets warmer. It's less washing for you when he does have an accident. This way, he knows that when he does wee in his pants, it's unpleasant and wet, he gets an immediate reaction that nappies do not allow children to feel. Also, he's older than most potty-trainers I've worked with (We used to start when they turned 2, or just before depending on parents), and age makes a lot of difference. If he's able to cognitively understand things like "You're not wearing a nappy, don't wee until you get to the toilet", it starts making all the difference. My friend's child is completely day-time potty-trained and he only turned 2 three weeks ago. Only wears a nappy at night now. It's all because his language skills are way advanced, like you get with older kids like Zach.

Good luck!

P.S. I really recommend a star chart if you have any problems at all with potty-training. A star chart is visible proof for a child that they're working towards a goal. Every time he does his business on the potty or in the toilet, he gets a star or sticker. When he gets a certain number (say 10) he gets a special treat, something that he really likes doing but doesn't often get. Mark off that point and start again. It's also a great way to introduce children to the concept of counting objects rather than just rote-counting.

P.P.S Dylan looks so cute in that uniform. :D

I love t-ball! Ensure that you keep his uniform...hat and all! I saved Gus's (who turns 21 this year...gasp!), and I'm so glad that I did. I think I'll make him wear it for his 21st birthday.

We have never done baseball, but this year The Chicken decided that she wanted to do softball....hold me. I remember the hours we would spend at the field when I was playing baseball. Thankfully the ballpark is only a 3 min drive in the car and a ten minute ride on bike. It should be fun!

Nice to hear that things are going well. Best of luck working on the house. Our daughter and SIL are moving in with us in a few weeks. It will be an adjustment for all of us.

Ahhh, TBall how I miss thee. The adorable outfielders picking their noses while watching planes fly overhead. My daughter sitting down in left field to pick dandylions....It is a great comedy isn't it?

PS It's the year of the baby. My dad says its the economy. Last year no one could afford to do anything but .... well you know. My 'other' son is now expecting in August and my brother is expecting in July. Add in our RolyPoly arriving in the next month and you and like I said. 2010: The Year of the Baby(ies)

Last year, my son's T-ball practice took place in a field right smack next to a train track. You can imagine how distracting that was to a group of young Thomas worshipers. Every time the whistle sounded, they all froze, then ran to the fence -- ball, bat and game abandoned. It was hysterical!
